Avra Friedman is an actress, comedian, and writer. Currently she can be seen in Steven Soderbergh’s newest comedy series, Now Apocalypse, on STARZ, playing the recurring role of Magenta, a very committed but meek and untalented actress. Her acting, writing, and stand-up have been featured on NBC, Amazon Prime, Lifetime, TruTV, Adult Swim, Awesomeness TV, BuzzFeed, The New Yorker, Super Deluxe, Funny or Die, Elizabeth Banks' WhoHaha, Amy Poehler's Smart Girls, and more. As a comic she has opened for Tim Allen, Gilbert Gottfried and Jay Mohr and was the winner of Gotham Comedy Club’s New Talent Competition. Avra is also the co-host and co-creator of the hit show, All My Single Friends, 1/2 comedy show, 1/2 live dating app, which plays to sold-out audiences and is in development for television.
